Santa Teresa, United States: Three people were seriously injured after a small aircraft crashed at Doña Ana County International Jetport in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, on June 5, according to local authorities. Emergency crews were dispatched to the airport at approximately 10:57 a.m. following reports of an aircraft accident on airport property. Responders from Sunland Park Fire Department, Doña Ana Fire Rescue and other emergency agencies arrived at the scene and located three injured occupants. Officials said three occupants aboard the aircraft survived but sustained serious injuries. The 2 occupants were airlifted to area hospitals for medical treatment, while the third was taken by ambulance. Authorities have not released the identities of those onboard. No fatalities were reported. Sunland Park Fire Chief Daniel Medrano said first responders were notified of a small Cessna-style aircraft crash at the airport. Three People Seriously Injured After Small Aircraft Crashes At Santa Teresa Jetport

Medulin, Croatia: Four people were killed when a German-registered Beechcraft Bonanza G36 crashed during its final approach to Medulin airfield on Croatia's Istrian Peninsula on June 4, authorities confirmed. Responders found the wreckage scattered across a field near the airfield, and all four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. Early reports suggested authorities were attempting to determine the total number of people on board, but subsequent investigations confirmed that four people were traveling in the aircraft and none survived. Croatian authorities have not publicly released the identities or nationalities of the victims. However, Austrian media indicated that the four occupants were Austrian nationals. The aircraft was manufactured in 2015 and was operating a private flight from Austria to Medulin. The identities of the victims have not been fully released by authorities. Four Onboard Killed After Beechcraft Bonanza Crashes Near Medulin Airport In Croatia

In a statement, Broward County Aviation officials said, "As a Broward County-owned and operated airport, safety is a top priority at HWO. While the County will not speculate as to the cause or causes of this accident, we will be cooperating with the authorities as they conduct their investigation.” The FAA has opened an investigation into the accident. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is expected to review the event as part of the federal investigative process.

Two Onboard Injured After Training Aircraft Crashes At Florida State Hospital Campus

Valbrembo, Italy: A routine flight training exercise ended in tragedy on June 1 when a Cessna 152 operated by flight school Cantor Air crashed near Valbrembo Airport in northern Italy, killing instructor Daniel Taino and leaving a 19-year-old student pilot critically injured. The two-seat training aircraft came down shortly after 4 p.m. local time in Via Don Bosco, a residential area near the airfield in Valbrembo, west of Bergamo. Taino, 26, a resident of Pianengo in Italy's Cremona province, died at the scene. Cantor Air, an ENAC-approved flight training organization operating from the Valbrembo area, confirmed its connection to the flight through tributes paid to Taino following the accident. Colleagues and students from the school gathered at the crash site after the tragedy. Friends and fellow aviators described Taino as a passionate young pilot who had transformed a lifelong ambition into a professional flying career. Reports indicate he had recently begun working as a flight instructor after completing his own pilot training and had been instructing students for approximately five months. Italian aviation safety investigators from ANSV, together with local prosecutors and technical specialists, have secured the crash site and launched a formal investigation. 2 Taiwanese Air Force Pilots Killed In Trainer Aircraft Crash During Training Exercise

New Delhi, India: Low-cost carrier SpiceJet is facing renewed legal pressure after France-based aircraft engine lessor Sunbird France 02 SAS approached the Delhi High Court to enforce a UK Commercial Court judgment directing the airline to pay nearly $8 million in unpaid lease rentals and maintenance dues related to three aircraft engines. The enforcement proceedings mark the latest chapter in a long-running dispute between the airline and the French lessor, adding to SpiceJet’s growing list of legal and financial challenges. According to court filings, the dispute concerns three aircraft engines leased to SpiceJet in 2019. Sunbird alleges that the airline failed to meet its payment obligations under the lease agreements, resulting in substantial outstanding lease rentals and maintenance accruals. The unpaid maintenance charges reportedly date back to November 2020, while unpaid lease rentals accumulated from January 2022 onward. After issuing default notices in July 2022, the lessor eventually repossessed the engines in stages, taking back two engines in December 2022 and the third in July 2023. Following the repossession, Sunbird initiated legal proceedings before the Commercial Court of England and Wales, seeking recovery of unpaid rent and maintenance charges linked to the three engines. On March 13, 2026, the London Commercial Court granted summary judgment in favour of Sunbird France 02 SAS, awarding approximately US$7.96 million. The court concluded that SpiceJet had no realistic prospect of successfully defending the claim. The UK court also recorded that although SpiceJet had initially appointed solicitors in the matter and had been properly served, it ultimately did not file a defence or participate in the proceedings. As a result, the court proceeded to issue judgment without a full trial. With the UK ruling remaining unpaid, Sunbird moved the Delhi High Court seeking recognition and enforcement of the foreign decree in India. The matter came up before Justice Vikas Mahajan, where Sunbird argued that the English judgment satisfies the requirements for enforcement under Indian law and should be executed against the airline's assets. The lessor sought urgent interim protection from the court, expressing concerns over SpiceJet’s financial condition and the possibility that recovery efforts could become more difficult if the airline’s financial position deteriorates further. During the proceedings, Sunbird's legal team pointed to multiple insolvency-related proceedings pending against SpiceJet before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). The lessor argued that disclosure of assets was necessary to safeguard its interests while enforcement proceedings continue. The Delhi High Court subsequently directed SpiceJet to disclose its assets through an affidavit to be submitted in a sealed cover. The court granted the lessor liberty to seek urgent relief during the court vacation if circumstances warrant such action. Sunbird also referred to reports concerning advance salary payments allegedly made to SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh while lease-related liabilities remained outstanding. The lessor cited these reports while arguing for interim protection measures. SpiceJet opposed immediate coercive measures and resisted demands for asset disclosure at the initial stage. Senior counsel representing the airline argued that SpiceJet remains a functioning airline and should not be treated as an entity attempting to evade its obligations. The airline informed the court that it continues to operate approximately 135 flights daily, carries around 21,000 passengers each day and employs nearly 6,400 personnel. SpiceJet maintained that any aggressive recovery action could adversely affect operations and stakeholders. The carrier also raised objections relating to the maintainability and enforceability of the execution proceedings, contending that those issues should be decided before any substantive interim relief is granted. The latest dispute emerges against the backdrop of SpiceJet's broader financial difficulties. The airline has spent the past several years dealing with the effects of the Boeing 737 MAX grounding, disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, increased competition in the domestic market and multiple legal battles involving aircraft lessors, creditors and other claimants. The Sunbird matter is not the first legal confrontation between the parties. Court records show that disputes involving Sunbird France and affiliated lessor Team France had been ongoing since at least 2023 over alleged defaults under engine lease agreements. Earlier proceedings before Indian courts involved payment schedules, settlement discussions, repossession disputes and court-monitored arrangements intended to allow SpiceJet to continue operating leased engines while resolving outstanding dues. Despite those efforts, the dispute eventually escalated into proceedings before the UK Commercial Court, culminating in the March 2026 judgment now being pursued in India. As the case enters the enforcement stage, the Delhi High Court is expected to examine whether the foreign judgment satisfies statutory requirements for execution in India and whether any interim protective measures are warranted pending final adjudication. For now, the court has directed SpiceJet to place details of its assets on record in a sealed cover, while Sunbird continues its efforts to recover the amount awarded by the UK court.

SpiceJet Faces Legal Challenge As Sunbird Seeks $8 Million UK Judgment Enforcement

Washington, United States: The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed a civil penalty of $165,000 against Alaska Airlines after alleging the carrier allowed intoxicated passengers to board multiple flights over a one-year period. FAA Proposes Penalty Against Alaska Airlines Over Alleged Intoxicated Passenger Boarding

Cape Town, South Africa: South African Airways (SAA) is facing mounting scrutiny after allegations emerged that the airline delayed reporting a serious fuel emergency involving two flights at Cape Town International Airport, prompting calls for a Parliamentary inquiry into aviation safety oversight in South Africa. The controversy centres on SAA flights SA313 and SA327, which were affected by severe weather conditions over Cape Town on 11 May 2026. According to reports, the airline allegedly took eight days to notify the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) about the incidents, despite regulations requiring such events to be reported within 72 hours. The issue has triggered criticism from South Africa’s opposition Democratic Alliance (DA), which has formally requested an urgent hearing before Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Transport. The party said the delay raises concerns about SAA’s safety management systems, regulatory compliance, and transparency. Bhiwani, India: India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its final investigation report into the accident involving Tecnam P2006T aircraft VT-VDB operated by FSTC Flying School at Bhiwani Airfield, Haryana, on May 12, 2022, concluding that fuel vapor lock in the left engine, combined with crew handling deficiencies and limited experience on type, led to the crash during a training flight. The twin-engine Tecnam P2006T was conducting a routine training sortie at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Airport, Bhiwani, with a flight instructor and a student pilot on board. The exercise involved six circuit-and-landing maneuvers and was the second training sortie of the day. According to the investigation, the aircraft completed its first circuit and performed a normal touch-and-go landing on Runway 30. Shortly after becoming airborne again, the crew experienced rough running and a loss of power in the left engine. The instructor took control and initiated asymmetric-flight procedures to maintain directional control. While the aircraft was still climbing at approximately 100 feet above ground level, the crew reported roughness and a reduction in power from the right engine as well. As the aircraft’s airspeed decayed, it was unable to sustain the climb. The crew elected to conduct a forced landing within the airfield boundary. No fatalities, serious injuries, fire, or damage to third parties were reported. The accident aircraft was a 2019-built Tecnam P2006T, serial number 269, powered by two Rotax 912 S3 engines. The 34-year-old flight instructor held a valid Commercial Pilot Licence and had accumulated approximately 1,589 flight hours. Prior to the accident, he had accumulated only about 1 hour and 15 minutes on the Tecnam P2006T. Investigators found both crew members were properly licensed, medically fit, adequately rested, and had not consumed alcohol. AAIB investigators conducted extensive examinations and operational testing of both Rotax engines and associated fuel, ignition, and electrical systems. The report concluded that neither engine suffered a technical malfunction and both were capable of producing power. However, no SD card had been installed in the data-logging slot, meaning no flight data was recorded.
