
São Paulo, Brazil: Embraer announced on August 25, 2026, that its Phenom 300EV business jet had secured certification from Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The three-way certification makes the Phenom 300EV the first light jet certified with Garmin Emergency Autoland and clears the aircraft for operation in key global markets.
The certification follows Embraer’s July 14, 2026, launch of the Phenom 300EV, described by the manufacturer as the latest evolution of the world’s best-selling light jet for 14 consecutive years. The upgraded aircraft combines new safety systems with performance, avionics and cabin improvements while retaining the Phenom 300 family’s position in the light-jet segment.

A major feature of the Phenom 300EV is Garmin Emergency Autoland, which can take control and perform a fully automated landing if the pilot becomes incapacitated. Garmin says its Autoland technology can determine when the pilot is unable to fly, select an appropriate airport by considering factors such as runway length, distance and fuel range, communicate the aircraft’s intentions and route to air traffic control and passengers, and land and stop the aircraft so emergency services can respond.
Embraer developed a Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller (MEC) to enable electronically controlled functions including rudder-by-wire and autobrake. According to the company, the system contributes to improved aircraft handling, lower pilot workload and simplified maintenance. The aircraft also incorporates class-exclusive autobrake and autothrottle, an industry-first Runway Overrun Awareness & Alerting System (ROAAS), Emergency Descent Mode, runway and taxi situational awareness, Synthetic Vision Guidance System (SVGS), FANS 1/A+, RNP AR 0.3 and an inertial reference system.

Michael Amalfitano, President and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, said the new aircraft builds on the established Phenom 300 platform through safety, performance and customer-experience upgrades. He described the certification milestone as “a testament to the dedication of our teams” and said Embraer now looks forward to bringing the Phenom 300EV to customers worldwide.
The Phenom 300EV also receives performance improvements. Its range has increased to 2,055 nautical miles (3,806 km) while carrying four passengers with NBAA IFR reserves, allowing nonstop regional missions such as Aspen-New York, Dubai-Maldives and São Paulo-Manaus, according to Embraer. The aircraft also has increased payload capability, including an approximately 430-pound increase in maximum zero-fuel-weight payload compared with the previous configuration.
The aircraft can reach Mach 0.80 and is marketed by Embraer as the world’s fastest and furthest-flying light jet, with the highest payload in its class. Its avionics are built around the Garmin G3000 Prodigy Touch flight deck and include the ROAAS, autothrottle, Emergency Descent Mode, autobrake and rudder-by-wire.

Embraer has also upgraded the passenger cabin. The Phenom 300EV offers line-fit worldwide connectivity through Gogo Galileo’s Low Earth Orbit satellite network, while Starlink connectivity will be offered as an aftermarket installation through a Supplemental Type Certificate. The cabin includes an odorless vacuum lavatory, improved temperature control, a redesigned refreshment center capable of accommodating a customer-preferred hot-beverage machine and an air-ionization system.
The aircraft retains a maximum cabin altitude of 6,600 feet, along with large windows, one of the larger baggage compartments in the light-jet category and an entry airstair influenced by larger business jets. Embraer says the aircraft’s cabin and operational features are intended to improve functionality for both passengers and crew.

The Phenom 300EV also incorporates True Blue Power lithium-ion batteries and LED taxi and landing lights, which Embraer says are intended to support reliability and dispatch performance. The manufacturer further said the aircraft will be supported by its global customer-service and support network, aimed at maintaining aircraft availability, predictable operating costs and long-term value.
The model’s “EV” designation stands for “Evolution,” reflecting Embraer’s stated approach of introducing technologies intended to improve safety, simplify operations and increase performance value. At launch on July 14, the company highlighted Emergency Autoland as a major addition, making the Phenom 300EV the largest business jet equipped with the Garmin system.
With the ANAC, FAA and EASA certifications now complete, Embraer expects deliveries of the Phenom 300EV to begin in 2028. The certification milestone places the aircraft among the first business jets in its class to combine automated emergency landing capability with the broader package of runway-awareness, descent, flight-control and connectivity technologies introduced with the new model.
