California, United States: Joby Aviation has announced a strategic partnership with Air Space Intelligence (ASI) to accelerate the integration of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into the United States National Airspace System (NAS), marking a critical shift from aircraft development to airspace readiness. The collaboration, revealed on April 7, 2026, focuses on deploying ASI’s AI-powered Flyways platform as a core coordination layer to manage high-density eVTOL traffic, an emerging challenge as the industry approaches commercialization. While much of the eVTOL race has historically centered on aircraft design such as range, noise, and efficiency the partnership highlights a growing industry concern: airspace congestion at scale. With Joby eVTOL nearing FAA type certification and preparing for early commercial operations under the White House-backed eVTOL Integration Pilot Program, the focus is now shifting toward managing potentially hundreds of simultaneous flights across major urban corridors such as New York, Miami, and Dallas. The companies aim to address this challenge before large-scale deployment begins. At the center of the collaboration is ASI’s Flyways AI, built on its PRESCIENCE platform, which creates a four-dimensional digital model of airspace by integrating real-time traffic data, weather inputs, and demand forecasts. This system enables air traffic controllers to anticipate congestion and optimize routing proactively rather than reacting after disruptions occur. Bernard Asare, President of Civil Aviation at Air Space Intelligence, emphasized the importance of this shift, stating, “Scaling advanced air mobility requires more than new aircraft… it requires a new operating system for the airspace.” He added that the platform provides predictive awareness to coordinate high-density operations “proactively, not reactively,” bringing these capabilities to eVTOL operations from the outset. Unlike earlier initiatives that focused primarily on drone traffic management systems, this partnership of eVTOL is designed to integrate directly with existing air traffic control (ATC) workflows rather than operate as a parallel system. Flyways AI will augment controller decision-making within the current NAS infrastructure, a move that could prove critical in gaining regulatory acceptance and operational scalability. The companies confirmed that joint demonstrations, including live operational exercises, are expected before the end of 2026, aligning with Joby’s planned commercial launch timeline. These trials are expected to validate how AI-driven coordination performs in real-world, high-density airspace environments. The partnership builds on ASI’s existing experience in conventional aviation, where its technology already supports major stakeholders, including airlines and U.S. defense operations. The company’s systems reportedly manage a significant portion of U.S. air traffic, strengthening its credibility in safety-critical environments. Meanwhile, Joby eVTOL continues to advance toward commercialization. The company recently completed piloted demonstration flights in California and has been selected to participate in multiple projects under the U.S. government’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program, which enables early operations across several states.

São Paulo, Brazil: On 10 November, 2025 Eve Air Mobility and Revo have announced the first real-world operational deployment of Eve’s Vector Urban Air Traffic Management (UATM) software during the 2025 São Paulo Grand Prix, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of urban air mobility infrastructure. The deployment will take place at Autódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos), where Revo will use Vector to manage high-volume helicopter operations during the Formula 1 race weekend. The software will support real-time coordination of aircraft movements, ground operations and vertiport activity in one of the most demanding urban aviation environments in Brazil. Vector’s Vertiport and Ground Operations module will be used for the live operation. The module enables scheduling, traffic optimization, aircraft sequencing and digital coordination between air and ground teams. According to Eve Air Mobility, this marks the first time the software will operate outside a test or simulated environment. Eve stated that the deployment represents a critical step in validating Vector’s readiness for large-scale commercial use. The company also confirmed that a Fleet Operations module, designed to support both helicopters and future eVTOL aircraft, is scheduled for release in 2026. The deployment builds on the long-term partnership between Eve and Revo. In June 2025, Revo signed a framework agreement with Eve covering up to 50 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, positioning São Paulo as one of the first cities expected to see large-scale commercial eVTOL services. Eve said real-world operations at a high-traffic international sporting event will provide critical data to refine Vector’s performance, scalability and safety features ahead of future urban eVTOL networks.

The MoU was announced during the Dubai Airshow 2025, highlighting flydubai’s strategic growth plans aligned with Dubai’s long-term economic vision. Singapore: Passengers flying out of Changi Airport and Seletar Airport will soon pay a new Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) levy starting in 2026, as part of Singapore’s drive to reduce the aviation sector’s carbon emissions and support global decarbonisation goals. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the levy will apply to tickets issued from April 1, 2026, for flights departing on or after October 1, 2026. The collected funds will be channelled into purchasing sustainable aviation fuel, helping airlines transition away from fossil-based jet fuel. Under the new system, passengers will pay different levy rates depending on destination zones and cabin classes: Band 1 – Southeast Asia: Economy S$1 | Premium S$4 Band 2 – Northeast Asia, South Asia, Australia & Papua New Guinea: Economy S$2.80 | Premium S$11.20 Band 3 – Africa, Europe, Middle East, Pacific Islands, Central & West Asia: Economy S$6.40 | Premium S$25.60 Band 4 – The Americas: Economy S$10.40 | Premium S$41.60 Transit passengers passing through Singapore will be exempt from the levy. The scheme will also cover cargo operators, business aviation, and general aviation flights, which will pay a SAF contribution based on aircraft weight or cargo load. CAAS stated that the initiative is a market-based mechanism designed to accelerate the uptake of SAF in a cost-effective and transparent manner. The authority said the levy would make the cost of cleaner fuel predictable for airlines and travellers while ensuring funds are ring-fenced for SAF purchases. “The SAF levy is a key part of Singapore’s decarbonisation framework for aviation. It enables us to make steady progress towards our targets while maintaining competitiveness as a global air hub,” CAAS said in a statement. Singapore’s aviation decarbonisation roadmap targets at least 1 % SAF usage by 2026, increasing to 3 %–5 % by 2030, depending on supply availability and cost developments. The levy rates could be adjusted in future as the SAF blend ratio rises. Globally, sustainable aviation fuel remains more expensive than conventional jet fuel typically costing two to five times more but is widely regarded as the most immediate tool to cut aviation’s carbon footprint. Singapore’s move follows similar measures adopted in the European Union and Japan, and could set a precedent for other Asian hubs exploring SAF mandates or incentives. The initiative complements broader efforts under the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) CORSIA framework, which aims for net-zero carbon emissions from international aviation by 2050. By creating a structured and transparent levy system, Singapore aims to send a clear demand signal to fuel producers and investors, potentially attracting SAF production and supply-chain projects to the region.
