AAIB Flags Non-Negative Pilot Test And Loss Of All Three Hydraulics In Air India Probe SEO DES: Air India AI2379 from Phuket to Delhi lost all 3 hydraulics at 36,000ft on Aug 4, causing a 300ft altitude drop; 24 onboard were injured in the incident SOCIAL: The AAIB flagged the Air India AI 2379 PIC’s confirmed psychoactive-substance use as a “serious concern” and recommended priority action by DGCA. The PIC tested non-negative twice, while the Co-Pilot tested negative. The Airbus A320-251N VT-EXO lost all three hydraulic systems at FL360 over the Kolkata FIR on August 4, 2026. The aircraft briefly climbed 372 feet and descended 292 feet before the systems recovered. The flight continued to Delhi and landed safely at 05:30 UTC. Of 145 people onboard, 24 were injured, with four hospitalized. Airbus and BEA inspected the aircraft from August 13-15, while components, fluid samples and flight recorders were secured for further investigation. Image: Rishavnandi08 (Wikimedia) Video: NDTV New Delhi, India: The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has raised a serious safety concern after its preliminary investigation into the August 4, 2026 accident involving Air India flight AI 2379 found that the 34-year-old Pilot-in-Command (PIC) tested non-negative for psychoactive substances in both the initial screening and subsequent laboratory confirmation. The Co-Pilot tested negative in both tests. The AAIB stated, "The confirmation of use of psycho-active substances is a serious concern and AAIB recommends appropriate actions by DGCA on priority." It further recommended that "DGCA may take appropriate actions as deemed fit to prevent abuse of psycho-active substances." The investigation has also identified a major technical event involving the aircraft's three hydraulic systems. Airbus and France's Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA) inspected the aircraft in Delhi from August 13 to August 15, 2026. Hydraulic components and fluid samples were recovered for detailed examination, while the Solid-State Flight Data Recorder (SSFDR) and Solid-State Cockpit Voice Recorder (SSCVR) were also secured for investigation. The aircraft had departed Phuket under Minimum Equipment List (MEL) item No. 29-23-01A for an inoperative Power Transfer Unit (PTU), which had been active since July 28, 2026. The accident involved Air India flight AI 2379, an Airbus A320-251N registered VT-EXO, serial number 8470, manufactured in 2018. The aircraft was owned by Alafco Irish Aircraft Leasing Eight Limited and operated by M/s Air India Limited. The report was prepared for the Director General of the AAIB under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. The aircraft departed Phuket International Airport (VTSP), Thailand, for Indira Gandhi International Airport (VIDP), Delhi, at 01:41 UTC on August 4, 2026, with 145 people onboard, comprising 137 passengers, including three infants, six cabin crew and two flight crew. The PIC had 5,055:22 hours of total flying experience, while the Co-Pilot had 1,393:47 hours. While cruising at FL360 over the Kolkata Flight Information Region at 21° 17 '22.02"N, 84° 56' 18.276"E, the aircraft detected a loss of the Green hydraulic system at 04:02:43 UTC. Four seconds later, the Blue and Yellow hydraulic systems were also detected as lost. At 04:02:48 UTC, the autopilot disengaged and a Continuous Repetitive Chime sounded. A stall warning then activated for two seconds at 04:02:51 UTC, after which the Co-Pilot, who was the Pilot Flying, initiated corrective action before the PIC took control. During the event, the aircraft climbed 372 feet above its assigned FL360 before descending 292 feet. The Blue hydraulic system recovered at 04:02:52 UTC, followed shortly by recovery of the Yellow and Green systems. Control-surface response was restored and the aircraft returned to normal flight. The aircraft's sudden movement injured 24 people, 20 passengers and four cabin crew. The seatbelt signs had been switched off during the cruise. The report recorded damage to ceiling panels at rows 5, 9, 10, 11, 18, 19, 20 and 27 to 29, along with dislocated Passenger Service Unit panels, broken handrails at rows 10 and 24, and overhead bins at rows 20 and 25 that were detached or dislodged from their hinges. The forward right-hand emergency exit (R2) handle was broken, the R4 crew swivel seat was bent and the Lavatory E commode was uprooted from its base. The crew decided not to divert and continued toward Delhi while requesting medical priority from air traffic control. The aircraft landed safely on Runway 11L at 05:30 UTC, or 09:32 IST, and parked at 05:37 UTC. Airport medical personnel attended to all 24 injured people. Twenty were treated and discharged for minor injuries, while four people with serious injuries were hospitalized. Following the flight, both pilots underwent Breath-Analyser testing, with satisfactory results. However, the subsequent psychoactive-substance testing of the PIC produced the non-negative initial and laboratory-confirmatory results that prompted the AAIB's interim safety recommendation to the DGCA.

Airlink Formation Flypast Prompts Safety Review After Jets Pass 41 Feet Above Stadium SEO DES: Airlink said the flypast was planned and approved by SACAA, while the regulator is reviewing whether it complied with approved safety parameters SOCIAL: Two Airlink Embraer jets flew over Cape Town’s DHL Stadium on August 29, 2026, just before the Springboks-All Blacks Test. Flightradar24 estimated the lead aircraft passed only 41–46 feet above the stadium roof, raising safety concerns. Airlink said the flypast was carefully planned, rehearsed and approved by SACAA, with no passengers aboard and no reported injuries or aircraft damage. SACAA obtained the aircraft’s flight-data recordings and began reviewing whether the operation complied with approved safety parameters. SACAA has yet to issue its final findings. Meanwhile, Airlink withdrew its planned September 5 flypast at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium, citing unfavourable weather, amid continuing scrutiny of the Cape Town operation. Cape Town, South Africa: Two Airlink Embraer jets flew as close as an estimated 41-46 feet (12.5-14 metres) above the roof of Cape Town’s DHL Stadium during a pre-match formation flypast on August 29, 2026, prompting a South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) compliance review after footage of the manoeuvre went viral. The flypast took place shortly before the second Test between the Springboks and New Zealand’s All Blacks in the four-match Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series. About 56,000 spectators were in the stadium as the two aircraft passed overhead before South Africa went on to defeat New Zealand 33-26. The aircraft involved were an Embraer E195, registration ZS-YDE, flying in a black All Blacks-themed livery, and an Embraer E190, registration ZS-YAE, carrying a green Springboks-themed livery. The E195 was the lead aircraft and was the one that came closest to the stadium roof based on flight-tracking calculations. Neither aircraft carried passengers. Airlink said each jet was operated by three senior captains serving as commander, co-pilot and safety/technical officer, with the crews having more than 75,000 combined flight hours. The aircraft flew at about 150 knots during the low-level formation pass. Airlink said the manoeuvre had been extensively planned and rehearsed and was conducted with guidance, approval and support from SACAA and Air Traffic Navigation Services. Flight-tracking service Flightradar24 later analysed ADS-B data from the operation. It recorded a lowest raw altitude of 50 feet at standard pressure. After correction for Cape Town’s local pressure setting of 1019 hPa, the aircraft were estimated to have been at about 205-210 feet above mean sea level. With DHL Stadium standing approximately 164 feet high, the estimated clearance above the roof was therefore about 41-46 feet. The low clearance became particularly striking in videos recorded from inside and around the stadium. The trailing aircraft was also seen passing through a cloud of pink dust or smoke generated by the pre-match pyrotechnic display. There has been no confirmed report of either aircraft striking the stadium, pyrotechnics or any other object, and no injuries or aircraft damage have been reported. Airlink defended the operation after the footage triggered criticism online. In its August 30, 2026 statement, the airline said the flight required “careful planning and rehearsal” because it involved low-altitude navigation at around 150 knots. It said SACAA and Air Traffic Navigation Services had provided guidance, approval and support to ensure a safe flyby. The airline also said flight data recorded by both aircraft confirmed that the operation was conducted within the altitude and speed limits approved and rehearsed with SACAA. The regulator subsequently began a compliance review. SACAA said Airlink had submitted three applications for flypasts linked to the rugby matches, with the first operation taking place at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on August 22, 2026 and the second at DHL Stadium on August 29, 2026. According to SACAA, the Cape Town operation had been formally approved under the regulatory provisions governing non-passenger or cargo-carrying flights under Part 91.06.32. The operator had also submitted supporting documentation, completed a simulator practice flight and conducted a safety briefing before the operation. The authority said the flypast was approved in accordance with the requirements for Special Air Events. However, after media and public discussion over the unusually low flight path, SACAA initiated compliance verification, engaged Airlink and obtained the aircraft’s Flight Data Recording downloads. SACAA said it is now analysing the data and has requested additional information from Airlink before reaching an informed position. The authority said a full report containing recommendations will be issued once the assessment is completed. “It is therefore critical that we interrogate this past weekend’s events to determine if there were any safety concerns which warrant a review,” SACAA said. The regulator also emphasised South Africa’s commercial aviation safety record, saying the country had maintained a zero fatal-accident record in commercial airline operations for more than four decades. SACAA said that record was one it intended to preserve as it continued to strengthen aviation safety standards. Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht later said the airline recognised the public interest generated by the flypast and the questions that followed, adding: “We never intended to become the news or upstage Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry.” Chris Martinus, president of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association South Africa, said the lead aircraft appeared to be manoeuvring over the stadium with very little room for error. He said that if something adverse occurred at such an altitude, the pilots would have few options. Australian aviation consultant and former military and commercial pilot Keith Tonkin also warned that turbulence or a bird strike could leave a jet with insufficient room to manoeuvre safely at that height. He said the broader concern was the precedent created by an operation that other operators might seek to replicate. The flypast was part of a long-standing South African rugby tradition. The practice gained particular prominence during the 1995 Rugby World Cup final, when a South African Airways Boeing 747 flew over Ellis Park before the Springboks faced the All Blacks. Airlink had planned to continue the tradition at the next Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Test at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium on September 5, 2026. However, the airline notified SACAA on September 1, 2026 that it was withdrawing its application for the third flypast. Airlink said unfavourable weather conditions meant the planned formation flight could not be safely conducted. SACAA confirmed the withdrawal but has not yet released a final finding on the Cape Town operation. The authority’s review will determine whether the two aircraft complied fully with the approved flight parameters and whether any additional safety measures or recommendations are required.

Alaska, United States: Four people were rescued after a Cessna 180 crashed and overturned on a coastal sandbar on Alaska’s Montague Island on August 30, 2026 with Alaska Air National Guard personnel responding to the remote site and transporting all four occupants to a hospital in Anchorage. The crash occurred on a coastal sandbar on Montague Island, about 60 miles southeast of Seward, Alaska, according to the Alaska National Guard. The aircraft was identified as a Cessna 180 carrying four people. The official report did not release the occupants’ names, the aircraft’s registration, the exact flight route or a specific cause of the crash. The rescue operation began after the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center (AKRCC) at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson received a signal from the aircraft’s 406 MHz emergency locator transmitter (ELT). The ELT was registered to the owner of the Cessna 180, allowing authorities to identify the aircraft associated with the emergency signal. The people involved in the incident also had a consumer-grade two-way satellite communication device. According to the Alaska National Guard, the device helped maintain the flow of information with the AKRCC and assisted rescuers in obtaining a more precise location of the crash site. Following the alert, the AKRCC requested assistance from the Alaska Air National Guard’s 176th Wing search-and-rescue duty officer. A HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter from the 210th Rescue Squadron was dispatched with pararescuemen from the 212th Rescue Squadron, commonly known as PJs, aboard. When the rescue team reached the crash site, the Cessna had overturned. Despite its position, the aircraft appeared to be seemingly undamaged, and the four occupants had managed to get themselves out before the pararescuemen reached them. The rescue operation required additional caution because the aircraft had come down on a coastal sandbar. Flying sand and beach debris posed a hazard to the helicopter, so the HH-60W crew landed at a safe distance from the crash site rather than directly next to the occupants. The pararescuemen then made contact with the four people and assessed their condition. One occupant had suffered a back injury. The PJs stabilized the injured person using a vacuum splint and cervical collar before securing the occupant in a Stokes litter for helicopter transportation. The HH-60W crew subsequently flew the injured occupant and the other three people to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. They were handed over to civilian medical personnel at the hospital. The Alaska National Guard said the incident also demonstrated the importance of reliable emergency-location and communication equipment during aircraft emergencies in remote areas. AKRCC officials urged aircraft owners to keep their 406 MHz ELT registrations current and encouraged pilots to carry an additional satellite communication device to help speed up rescue operations. The Alaska National Guard reported that all four occupants were rescued from the crash site and transported for medical care. The agency did not provide further information on the occupants’ identities or disclose what caused the Cessna 180 to crash.

Leipzig, Germany: The German government on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, blamed Russia for an attempted explosive-drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport on August 4, 2026 saying investigators had established links to Russian state entities and that the incident formed part of a broader campaign of hybrid operations against Europe. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said police investigations, the pattern of the incident and intelligence findings pointed to Russian responsibility. “Taken together, the police investigations, the pattern and intelligence findings prove a Russian responsibility for the attempted attack at Leipzig airport,” Dobrindt said. He added that intelligence indicated that people involved in the operation had acted “on behalf of Russian state entities.” Dobrindt said investigators had identified the drone’s configuration, components, explosives and detonator as elements “known to us from other Russian hybrid operations and its war against Ukraine.” He said the technology found at the scene demonstrated “a high degree of technical expertise” and considerable planning, while suggesting that lower-level operatives may have been used to carry out the operation. Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said Germany did not regard the Leipzig incident as an isolated case. “It fits into a broader pattern of Russian hybrid operations in Europe,” he said. Wadephul described Germany as facing the “daily reality of hybrid warfare” and said the government would respond with measures that were “proportionate and measured, yet equally resolute.” The attribution came after Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Sunday, August 30, that the investigation was nearing completion. “We are in the process of concluding the investigation,” Merz said, adding that there was broad agreement within the Federal Government on the response and that it would be made clear “in the coming days.” He also said Germany’s European Union and NATO partners had been informed and would be prepared for the government’s announcement. The incident itself occurred on August 4, 2026 when an explosives-laden drone was discovered inside the secure area of Leipzig/Halle Airport near Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft. The device was defused by bomb-disposal specialists after its detonator failed to trigger the explosives. Reports have put the explosive load at about 600 grams, with investigators later finding traces of the military explosive hexogen at another location near the airport. The Ukrainian Antonov aircraft at Leipzig/Halle are used to transport military supplies to Ukraine. Investigators have examined whether the drone was intended to strike one of those aircraft. The failed detonation meant the suspected attack did not cause the potentially catastrophic damage German officials warned could have resulted if the explosives had detonated. A second drone was also investigated after a DHL cargo aircraft encountered an unidentified object and had to divert. Early reports suggested the object could have been another drone involved in the operation, although investigators later questioned whether the second incident was directly connected to the planned attack. A third drone was subsequently found in a field near the airport, with forensic investigators detecting traces that were initially assessed as possibly being hexogen. The airport briefly faced operational disruption during the initial incident, while authorities secured the area and carried out explosive-disposal operations. Leipzig/Halle is a major European cargo hub and has become an important logistics location for Ukrainian Antonov aircraft after Russia destroyed the airline’s home base at Hostomel in Ukraine following its 2022 invasion. Germany has now announced diplomatic and economic measures in response to the attribution. Berlin said Russia’s consulate general in Bonn would be closed, while the agreement covering the Russian House cultural centre in Berlin would be terminated. Germany also plans to push for additional EU sanctions and travel restrictions targeting Russian nationals and increase pressure on Russia’s so-called shadow fleet. The Russian ambassador was summoned to the German Foreign Ministry following the announcement. Russia rejected the accusation. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the allegations had not been supported by evidence and described Germany’s actions as an escalation, while Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow would respond to what she called Berlin’s “anti-Russian action.” Germany’s accusation has received support from European allies and NATO. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Berlin had presented clear evidence of Moscow’s role, while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed solidarity with Germany. Leaders and officials from Poland, Italy, the UK, Sweden, France and Canada also backed Berlin’s response and warned against further Russian hybrid activity in Europe. Tuesday’s announcement marks the first time the German government has officially and directly identified Russia as responsible for the Leipzig/Halle airport incident. Berlin has linked the case to a wider security concern involving alleged Russian sabotage, espionage, cyber activity, disinformation and attacks on critical infrastructure across Europe.

Wausau, United States: The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) preliminary report, reported publicly on 13 October 2026, details the pilot’s account, fuel-system inspection and aircraft damage. During a post-accident interview with a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) inspector, the pilot’s aviation mechanic said the pilot attributed the power loss to his delay in switching tanks and not turning on the electric fuel-boost pump. The NTSB has not issued a final probable-cause determination, and the investigation remains ongoing. A delayed switch between fuel tanks and failure to activate the electric fuel-boost pump were cited by the pilot as reasons for the loss of engine power that forced a Beechcraft K35 carrying US lawmaker Tom Tiffany to make an emergency water landing in Lake Wausau, Wisconsin, on 12 September 2026. The aircraft, registered N6071E, was substantially damaged in the accident. Both occupants, pilot Leonard Boltz, 73, and passenger Tiffany, 68 sustained minor injuries and escaped from the aircraft before being rescued. The NTSB report states that the accident occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m. Central Daylight Time on 12 September 2026, near Wausau, Wisconsin. The Beech K35 was operating a personal flight under Part 91 of the US Federal Aviation Regulations from La Crosse Regional Airport to Wausau Downtown Airport. According to the report, the pilot was flying in the airport traffic pattern for landing at Wausau Downtown Airport. Shortly after extending the landing gear while abeam the runway threshold, he observed a “higher-than-normal engine exhaust gas temperature (EGT).” The report states: “According to the pilot, the higher-than-normal engine EGT reminded him to switch fuel tanks.” The pilot selected the right main fuel tank and moved the mixture and throttle levers fully forward, but the engine did not respond. He told investigators that he did not activate the electric fuel-boost pump while attempting to restore engine power. The pilot then maneuvered the aircraft towards the runway and prepared for a water landing. The aircraft struck the water, substantially damaging its fuselage, left wing, left aileron and engine mount. After the aircraft was recovered from Lake Wausau, investigators examined its fuel system and cockpit controls. The inspection found: The left main fuel tank was empty. The right main tank and both auxiliary fuel tanks were full of fuel. All fuel-tank caps were secure. The electric fuel-boost pump switch was in the OFF position. The fuel selector valve was positioned to the right main fuel tank. The throttle, mixture and propeller controls were nearly fully forward. These findings document the aircraft’s condition after the accident. The NTSB has not yet issued a final determination establishing the complete sequence of events that led to the loss of engine power. Earlier on 12 September, the pilot flew the aircraft from Langlade County Airport in Antigo, Wisconsin, to La Crosse Regional Airport. The aircraft departed Antigo with 70 gallons of fuel distributed across four tanks: 25 gallons in each main tank and 10 gallons in each auxiliary tank. The pilot did not refuel at La Crosse before departing for Wausau. He told investigators that he had selected the left main fuel tank for both flight legs, except for a brief period when he selected the auxiliary tanks during cruise flight before returning to the left tank. The flight from La Crosse to Wausau departed at approximately 8:15 p.m. local time. During the approach to Wausau, the pilot noticed the elevated exhaust gas temperature and switched to the right main tank. Despite advancing the engine controls, power was not restored. The NTSB report records the pilot’s explanation to his aviation mechanic following the accident: “the loss of engine power was due to his delay in switching fuel tanks and not turning on the electric fuel boost pump.” The aircraft landed in Lake Wausau after the pilot was unable to restore engine power. Both the occupants managed to exit the aircraft and reach shallow water. They called 911 and were rescued by a Wausau Fire Department airboat shortly after the accident. Both men sustained minor injuries. The aircraft remained in the water until recovery crews removed it on 14 September, with the recovery operation involving divers and other personnel. It was subsequently secured in a hangar for examination. The NTSB’s preliminary findings identify the pilot’s reported fuel-management errors and document the condition of the fuel tanks, selector valve and boost-pump switch after the accident. However, preliminary reports are subject to change as an investigation progresses. The report does not constitute a final probable-cause determination. Further investigative work may clarify the circumstances surrounding the engine-power loss and the emergency landing.

Automation Rises, But Are Indian Pilots Being Trained To Keep Pace With The Future?

Automation Rises, But Are Indian Pilots Being Trained To Keep Pace With The Future?

START: India is emerging as the fastest-growing aviation market worldwide, yet it faces a significant hurdle: a shortage of trained technical personnel, including pilots, engineers, and technicians. This challenge is expected to become more acute as Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles enter the market within the next year or two, creating an additional need for pilots. The issue stems largely from inadequate planning and foresight by the authorities. Consequently, many aspiring Indian pilots are pursuing training in countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bosnia, Montenegro, and the Philippines. In fact, approximately 700 out of every 1,000 commercial pilot licenses issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) are earned abroad. India’s Potential as a Global Hub for Aviation Education Considering India’s expansive geography and favorable weather for flying, the country is ideally suited to be a global hub for aviation education. In the 1980s and 1990s, students from nations such as Iran, Jordan, Palestine, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and several African countries came to India for flight training. Today, the trend has reversed, with Indian students going overseas for pilot education. One key reason is the slow pace of domestic training programs and the cumbersome security clearance process for foreign students, which discourages them from enrolling in India. Competition from International Flight Schools Meanwhile, nations like the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia have established world-class flight schools. Students from neighboring Arab countries now mostly prefer the United States, Canada, and Europe for training, despite these regions lacking ideal weather for primary flight instruction. Domestic regulations further complicate matters. The DGCA allows a flight school to operate only if it meets minimum requirements for aircraft and paid-up capital, while the Airports Authority of India (AAI) imposes additional capital requirements. These rules do not guarantee quality education but are often sufficient to prevent many capable entrepreneurs from opening flight schools. By contrast, an Indian entrepreneur started a flight school in New Zealand with a single rented aircraft, which has since expanded to a fleet of over 20 planes and now attracts Indian students. Shortage of Trainer Aircraft The shortage of trainer aircraft is another pressing challenge. In the 1970s, Prof. David Hazen of Princeton University, invited by the Indian government to establish the first aeronautical department at IIT Kanpur, outlined a roadmap for India to achieve self-reliance in aviation training. However, progress has been slow. The DGCA developed the Swati light aircraft, manufactured by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), but a fatal accident during testing brought the program to an end. Similarly, the Hansa trainer created by the National Aerospace Laboratory (NAL) was rejected by most flight schools. Lessons from the Pushpak Aircraft A comparison with the Pushpak aircraft is instructive. Manufactured in the 1950s, HAL produced 160 Pushpaks, which served India reliably for over 50 years and maintained an excellent safety record. In 1968, the government gifted one Pushpak each to Singapore and Malaysia to help them establish their flight training programs. The Pushpak’s success was largely due to it being modeled closely on the proven US Aeronca Chief. NAL later developed the next-generation Hansa (NG Hansa), which was showcased at the 2020 Wings India airshow, but production has yet to start, and setting up the necessary infrastructure would still take several years even if action begins immediately. Global Trainer Aircraft Shortages and LSAs The shortage of trainer aircraft is not unique to India. Major manufacturers such as Cessna and Piper had slowed production, underestimating demand, and now struggle to meet global requirements. Other countries have tackled this problem by incorporating Light Sport Aircraft (LSAs) into flight training. Equipped with advanced navigation systems, LSAs are cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and widely used in the US and EU for commercial pilot instruction. However, Indian regulations currently do not permit LSAs for commercial pilot training. Despite being equipped with only a magnetic compass, pilots trained on Pushpaks have gone on to fly advanced aircraft like the Boeing 777 and Airbus A320. Allowing LSAs in India could reduce aircraft shortages, encourage domestic manufacturing, generate employment, and attract foreign investment. Lack of Experienced Flight Instructors The lack of experienced flight instructors adds another layer of difficulty. Rapid growth in airlines such as Indigo and Air India has led many instructors to leave training schools for better pay, career progression, and recognition in commercial aviation. This high turnover leaves less-experienced instructors teaching students, unlike other professional fields where teachers usually have extensive industry experience. In countries like the US, airline pilots can provide primary flight training in their spare time, giving trainees the advantage of learning from seasoned professionals and ensuring higher safety standards. Without urgent, proactive measures, India will continue to rely on foreign nations to fulfill the increasing demand for skilled professionals in its civil aviation sector. https://www.hindustantimes.com/ht-insight/knowledge/flight-training-a-challenge-in-civil-aviation-101727069965710.html
