Bengaluru, India: Himalayan Heli Services Limited has placed an order for two Airbus H125 helicopters during Aero India 2025. This procurement will expand the company’s fleet to eight H125 helicopters used for its operations in commercial air transport and aerial work missions across northern India.
The Airbus H125 is a single-engine helicopter powered by a Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 2,250 kg, a cruise speed of approximately 220 km/h, and a range of 632 km. Known for its high-altitude performance, the aircraft is designed to operate in extreme environments, including high temperatures and rugged terrains.
“We are certain that these helicopters will be valuable assets that will enable Himalayan Heli to expand their growing network of services,” said Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters in India and South Asia.
Himalayan Heli Services has been utilizing the H125 model for over 15 years, primarily for pilgrimage transport and airborne geophysical surveys. The company specializes in helicopter services for challenging terrains and diverse aerial missions.
Airbus said the H125 is the only helicopter to have landed at the top of Mount Everest and has accumulated over 40 million flight hours worldwide and is widely used in search and rescue, firefighting, law enforcement, and medical evacuation.
