New Delhi: Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu urged more women to enter the aviation industry, particularly as helicopter pilots, emphasizing their importance in linking rural places where establishing airports is challenging.
At the “Aviation Conclave 2024 – Empowering Women to Soar,” sponsored by The Ninety-Nines India Section, Naidu conveyed the importance of helicopters in India’s increasing aviation network.
The event, held on December 2, 2024, at The Stein Auditorium in New Delhi, sought to commemorate women’s successes in aviation while also addressing the challenges they confront.
It additionally proposed making concrete efforts to increase female participation and foster diversity in the sector. Distinguished female pilots and aviation executives told their tales to inspire future generations of pilots.
The Minister’s statement supports the government’s efforts to increase women’s participation in aviation through training programs and scholarships. He stressed the growing demand for qualified pilots, particularly in the helicopter flying, which is essential for giving access to regional areas.
India’s aviation industry is quickly growing, and the government is dedicated to fixing infrastructural issues, raising safety standards, and expanding possibilities for women.
