The incident occurred on March 21, Saturday evening during a training and routine duty flight conducted under the Qatar–Turkey Combined Joint Force Command, within the framework of close defence cooperation between the two nations
Qatar’s Ministry of Defence stated that the helicopter went down at sea after experiencing a technical fault mid-flight, with no indication of external or hostile involvement.
Early reports confirmed six fatalities with one individual missing, prompting an extensive search and rescue operation led by the Ministry of Interior.
In a later update posted on its official X (Twitter) account, the Interior Ministry confirmed that the seventh and final missing victim had been recovered, bringing the total death toll to seven and formally concluding the search operation.
