The unit, normally fixed above eye level to project flight data such as altitude and speed, reportedly fell forward during the takeoff roll and struck the captain with significant force. The impact left the captain dazed and disoriented, with reports indicating a possible mild concussion. The First Officer immediately assumed command of the aircraft and coordinated with air traffic control.
