Delhi: On November 4th, 2024, President of India, Smt Draupadi Murmu, participated in a dynamic discussion with a group of leading women achievers from the Indian aviation sector at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

This gathering was a part of “The President with the People” initiative, aimed at strengthening connections between the President and citizens who are making significant contributions across various sectors.

At the event, the President highlighted the vital contributions of women in India’s civil aviation field, noting impressive milestones like women comprising 18% of pilots who obtained commercial licenses in the previous year, 15% of air traffic controllers, 11% of flight dispatchers, and 9% of aerospace engineers.

The President also applauded these pioneering women for their bravery in innovating and exploring nontraditional career paths. She acknowledged the government’s endeavors to foster a more inclusive aviation sector and stressed the significance of ensuring equal opportunities for women to excel in aviation and technical domains.

Additionally, she discussed the essential role of family support in women’s career journeys, pointing out that even highly educated women often encounter challenges without their family’s encouragement. The President urged these accomplished women to mentor aspiring individuals, motivating them to follow their professional ambitions with confidence and resolve.

A heartfelt acknowledgment goes out to these extraordinary women for their achievements, and sincere gratitude is extended to our President for launching such impactful initiatives.
