Punjab, INDIA: In a disturbing incident early Wednesday morning, an unidentified aircraft crashed in Aklian Kalan village of Punjab’s Bathinda district, resulting in the death of one farm labourer and injuries to nine others.
The crash occurred around 2 a.m. in an agricultural field shortly after the aircraft was seen flying at an unusually low altitude. Witnesses reported hearing a loud explosion upon impact. As villagers rushed toward the wreckage to assist, a secondary blast caused further injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Govind, a farm worker from Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. The injured were taken to Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Civil Hospital in Bathinda, while one critically injured person was referred to AIIMS Bathinda for advanced treatment.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the aircraft was civilian, military, or unmanned. The crash site has been secured by local law enforcement and defense personnel, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the type and origin of the aircraft.

The timing of the incident has drawn attention due to recent military activity in the region, particularly after India’s reported ‘Operation Sindoor’, which allegedly targeted terror infrastructure across the border. Unverified reports also suggest other aviation-related incidents in parts of Jammu and Kashmir around the same time.
