Air Traffic Controller
Air Traffic Controller coordinates the movement of aircraft to maintain the safe distances between the aircraft. Their primary concern is safety, but they also must direct aircraft efficiently to minimize delays. They manage the flow of aircraft into and out of the airport airspace, guide pilots during takeoff and landing, and monitor aircraft as they travel through the skies for security purposes. Air traffic controllers use radar, computers, or visual references to monitor and direct the movement of the aircraft in the skies and ground traffic at airports.
To discharge his duties efficiently and effectively he requires special training and knowledge in more than one area like air navigation, interpretation of meteorological reports, operations of sophisticated electronic and mechanical controls, leading the aircraft under adverse circumstances.
Airports Authority of India (AAI) conducts this training in their Civil Aviation Training Colleges. AAI is the sole employer of the civil ATCs, in India. The training is imparted only after recruitment. After successful completion of training & clearing of exam, candidate qualifies for relevant job with AAI.

Eligibility
Engineering Degree in Electronics / Telecommunication / Radio Engineering / Electrical or Master’s Degree in Electronics OR any discipline with electronics, telecom, radio physics, as specialization subjects OR Master's with physics, maths or computer science with First Class (60% or above). Candidate’s lower age limit is 21 years, while the upper age limit is 27 years. Note- The candidate shall have minimum proficiency in both spoken and written English of the level of 10+2 standard. Candidate shall also attain the ICAO language minimum proficiency level 4 (operational) for the purpose of issue of license or rating. Any candidate who is not able to attain ICAO proficiency level 4 or above during the training, his /her services are liable to be terminated.
