India: State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) in India have announced a significant reduction in Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices commencing January 1. This provides relief to both airlines and consumers following recent pricing hikes.

Mumbai: ₹84,511.93 (Lowest in India)

Delhi: ₹90,455.47

Kolkata: ₹93,059.79

Chennai: ₹93,670.72

November 2024: Prices increased by ₹845.39 per kilolitre.

December 2024: Another hike of ₹1,318.12 per kilolitre.

January 2025: A reduction of ₹1,401.37 per kilolitre.

Delhi: $812.75
Mumbai: $811.98
Kolkata: $851.55
Chennai: $807.69

This price drop is projected to reduce airlines’ operational expenses, possibly resulting in cheaper ticket prices for passengers. Following back-to-back price increases in November and December, the January drop brings much-needed relief to the industry, particularly during peak travel season.

Airlines may now be able to offer more competitive fares, benefiting passengers and boosting air travel demand.
