Senior IAS Officer Faiz Ahmed Kidwai from the 1996-batch, Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

India: Senior IAS Officer Faiz Ahmed Kidwai from the 1996-batch, Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Before stepping into the leadership of the DGCA, Kidwai held numerous significant positions across various sectors of public administration. His career trajectory has been marked by his deep expertise in areas ranging from tourism and agriculture to public policy and governance.

Secretary to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh: Kidwai’s leadership abilities were first showcased in his role as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, where he was entrusted with steering multiple projects crucial for the state’s governance.

Secretary & Commissioner of Tourism: In addition to his key role in government, Kidwai was appointed as the Secretary and Commissioner of Tourism for Madhya Pradesh. His leadership led to transformative developments in the state’s tourism landscape.

Managing Director of MP Tourism Development Board & Corporation: His efforts in these roles helped establish Madhya Pradesh as an emerging tourism hub in India, boosting both domestic and international tourist interest.

CEO of National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA): Kidwai’s leadership was further recognized when he was appointed CEO of the NRAA, a position in which he played a pivotal role in ensuring sustainable development in India’s rainfed areas. His tenure was extended in March 2024, affirming the government’s trust in his expertise and management skills.

Additional Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare: As Additional Secretary, Kidwai focused on vital agricultural reforms, demonstrating his ability to handle complex issues impacting millions of farmers across the nation.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his appointment on Friday.
