Announcement of RTR(A) Examination Schedule for 2025

India: The Ministry of Communications’ Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has released the 2025 Radio Telephony Restricted (Aeronautical) [RTR(A)] examination schedule. The RTR(A) certification is required for professionals wishing to handle radio equipment in the Aeronautical Mobile Service under the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Rules of 1954. This accreditation guarantees a skilled workforce for safe and efficient aeronautical communication across national airspace.

With defined timetables in place, the Ministry aims to streamline the certification process, allowing applicants to prepare effectively while adhering to the norms and regulations that govern this essential test.

Important Instructions for Applicants

1. Application Process:
   • Candidates must complete the application process on the Saral Sanchar Portal within the designated periods
   • All application fees are non-refundable
   • No offline applications will be entertained
     
     
2. Eligibility and Purpose of Certification:
   • The RTR(A) exam awards a certificate required for the operation of radio communication equipment in aeronautical services
   • This is not a recruitment exam or training program
     
     
3. Supporting Documentation:
   • Applicants must submit a self-declaration affirming their eligibility, along with an Indian Passport or equivalent alternative documentation
   • The requirement for a separately attested nationality certificate is eliminated
     
     
4. Examination Categories:
   • Candidates can apply for the Full Examination (Part I and Part II) or Part I only, depending on their qualifications and requirements
   • Admit cards, once issued, are final, and no changes will be made to the allotted date or exam center
     
     
5. Disqualifications and Rejections:
   • Applications lacking proper documentation, proof of fee payment, or those submitted after the deadline will be rejected
   • Late entries and incomplete applications will not be entertained
     
     
6. Exam Regulations:
   • Candidates must carry a valid photo ID and their admit card to the exam center
     
     
7. Advisory:
   • No external coaching institutes or flying clubs are recognized by the Ministry for training or preparation for the RTR(A) exam
