Mehsana, Gujarat: A 19-year-old woman trainee pilot sustained injuries after a trainer aircraft crash-landed in an open field near Ucharpi village in Mehsana district on Monday evening. The aircraft, a Cessna 152, belonged to Blue Ray Aviation Private Limited, a private aviation academy.

According to police officials, the incident occurred around 7 PM when the single-engine aircraft took off from Mehsana airport for a routine training session. Due to technical issues, the aircraft crash-landed in an open field, resulting in minor injuries to the pilot. She was immediately transported to a private hospital in Mehsana, where her condition was reported to be stable and out of danger.

Authorities from both the Blue Ray Aviation Academy and government agencies have reached the crash site to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident. Inspector DG Badva of the Mehsana taluka police station confirmed that aviation authorities had been notified and that further inquiries were underway.

Fortunately, as the aircraft crashed in an open field, there were no casualties or additional injuries reported. Officials continue to assess the situation to determine the exact cause of the technical failure that led to the accident.

On March 6th 2024, a Cessna 172 aircraft from Chimes Aviation Academy crash-landed while attempting an emergency landing in Guna. The aircraft, flying from Neemuch to Dhana, developed a technical malfunction mid-flight. As it passed over Guna, the trainee pilot requested permission to land but lost control during descent, resulting in the crash. The pilot sustained injuries and was hospitalized, while aviation authorities launched an inquiry.

In a separate incident, a trainer aircraft crashed during a test flight at an airstrip in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district on 11th August 2024, injuring two pilots. The two-seater Cessna 152, belonging to Belagavi Aviation Academy, had taken off from Guna airport at 12:30 PM and remained airborne for 40 minutes before crashing within the airport complex, reportedly due to engine failure. Both pilots sustained injuries but were in stable condition and received medical treatment.
