Air India becomes the first Indian airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi on domestic and international flights, providing passengers with entertainment, the opportunity to take work calls and respond to emails, and stay connected during their journey | Aviation Today

India: Air India becomes the first Indian airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi on domestic and international flights, providing passengers with entertainment, the opportunity to take work calls and respond to emails, and stay connected during their journey.

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

Eligible Aircraft: Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select Airbus A321neo operating on both domestic and international routes. 

Cost: Complimentary for an introductory period. 

Passengers can connect to the in-flight Wi-Fi by:

Enabling Wi-Fi on their device and selecting the ‘Air India Wi-Fi’ network.

Upon redirection to the Air India portal, entering their PNR and last name.

The service supports multiple devices simultaneously, including smartphones, tablets, and laptops with iOS or Android operating systems. 

“Connectivity is now an integral part of modern travel. For some, it is about the convenience and comfort of real-time sharing, while for others, it is about greater productivity and efficiency. Whatever be one’s purpose, we are confident that our guests will appreciate having the option of connecting to the web and enjoy the new Air India experience on board these aircraft,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India.

Air India intends to progressively roll out Wi-Fi services across more aircraft in its fleet over time, aiming to provide consistent connectivity for all passengers.
