Muscat, Oman: An IndiGo Airbus A321neo operating flight 6E 1302 from Doha to Bengaluru was diverted to Muscat on September 3, 2026 after a crew member reportedly became incapacitated during the flight and required urgent medical attention. The aircraft landed safely at Muscat International Airport, where the affected crew member was attended to by a medical team.
Flight 6E 1302 was operating from Hamad International Airport in Doha to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Flight-tracking records identify the aircraft involved as Airbus A321neo registration VT-ILO. The aircraft was scheduled to leave Doha at around 2 a.m. local time but departed at about 3 a.m., according to flight-tracking data and reports.
During the flight, an operating crew member reportedly became unwell and was unable to continue normally, prompting the flight to divert to Muscat for immediate medical attention.
The aircraft was diverted to Muscat International Airport instead of continuing to its planned destination in Bengaluru. After landing, a medical team attended to the affected crew member. IndiGo said the crew member was feeling better. The airline has not disclosed the nature of the medical condition.
In a statement, IndiGo said, “IndiGo flight 6E 1302, operating from Doha to Bengaluru on 03 September 2026 was diverted to Muscat due to an urgent requirement of medical attention for one of the operating crew members.”
“The said crew member was attended to by the medical team upon landing and is feeling better now. An alternate aircraft along with a new set of crew has been arranged to continue the journey to Bengaluru,” the airline added.
IndiGo subsequently arranged an alternate aircraft and a fresh set of crew to transport the passengers from Muscat to Bengaluru. While waiting for the replacement aircraft, passengers were provided refreshments and regular updates.
“We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers and are making all efforts to minimise it, including offering refreshments and timely updates as they wait for the aircraft at Muscat. The safety of our customers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority at IndiGo,” the airline said.
IndiGo has not provided further details about the medical condition or disclosed the exact circumstances leading to the incapacitation.
